An extremely important business lunch arose, and with my client being based just off The Strand, it was going to be a big ask to find somewhere nearby suitable to dine with little more than 5 days notice, especially just before Christmas.
I had previously submitted a review to Spy some time ago regarding a
lunch that we suffered at the hands of this establishment which
comprised of a woeful chateaubriand and even worse service. Whilst
the wonders of modern technology brought Restaurant Spy to a crippling
Vegetarian restaurants have a reputation for being lentil riddled and boring, but I’ve never met a lentil I didn’t like.
It was 9.30pm. There were ten of us. We had been drinking all evening - at my book launch - and needed some grub to soak up the alcohol. We headed down the Holloway Road searching for nourishment and a big table.
Living room sized restaurant, quite sparse but elegant/friendly. Owners are two southern Italians with a Northern Italian Chef. Food is modern Italian with the emphasis on fresh food and a short simple menu.
Something perhaps worse than a smoker who becomes an ardent antagonistic non-smoker is the restaurant critic who repents.
